Comedy Night at Sh-Booms

Laugh the night away at Sh-Booms Saturday, March 25th, at 8:00 pm with comedians Darrin Meyer and Tom Garland. Just $10 gets you into the door. Sh-Booms is located at 3010 Broadway Yankton, SD. Find

more information on the Facebook event page: Comedy Show.

Headliner: Darrin Meyer--Ever wondered what seeing every corner of the country and hitting every backwater town the tourist guides warn you about would do to a person’s mind? Thought about how driving ten hours a day and staying in motel rooms that even Norman Bates won’t go near warps a man’s thinking? Darrin Meyer brings these experiences to the stage in a show called one of a kind. Darrin has performed in some of the finest comedy clubs, colleges, Chinese restaurants, strip joints, and prisons in over forty states, where he developed his manic takes on relationships, sports, families, life on the road, and whatever happens to be driving him nuts on any given day. Darrin has opened for a diverse variety of acts, such as Pauly Shore, Jim Breuer, Jeff Dunham, Dave Coulier, and Weird Al Yankovic.

Co-headliner Tom Garland--He's landed epic tours with prankster icons such as Tom Green and the cast of MTV's JACKASS. He's shared dressing rooms with Playboy Centerfolds, opened shows to crowds of 1,000+, and learned the benefits of marijuana in sports from Rob Van Dam, while not playing sports. For awhile, Aaron Carter became notorious for sleeping on his couch. He even made a cameo as a bartender in a children's Christmas dog movie ("Up On The Wooftop"). He's undoubtable weird and wild, but so is his life, considering he grew up across the street from a quiet cornfield in Iowa.

Denim Day 2017Image may contain: text

Denim Day is an international protest responding to the Italian Supreme Court's overruling of a rape conviction in 1999. Although the assailant had been found guilty at trial, the Supreme Court argued that because jeans are difficult to remove, the assailant couldn't have done so without the victims help.

To honor Denim Day, on April 26th, River City Domestic Violence Center is encouraging community members to wear jeans to work or school to promote discussion of the misconceptions that surround sexual violence. Participants are asked to use the hashtag #DenimDayYankton if photos are posted on social media.

We invite business' to participate and have co-workers and collegues wear denim for the day. We understand that sometimes denim is not under the guidelines for a business policy. We encourage if this is the case that employees contribute a free will donation in order to allow denim for this day.

For more information, go to www.denimdayinfo.org/about
